How much Zakāt do I pay?

You pay 2.5 percent of your zakatable wealth once a full lunar year has passed and your total is at or above the niṣāb. If you would rather track your year using the regular solar calendar, the rate is slightly higher at 2.577 percent, because the solar year runs about eleven days longer than the lunar one.
